About Mounting Vision

A small, independent project with a single job: explain how to mount a television properly, with nothing to sell you.

Our purpose

Clear information, free of a sales agenda.

Mounting Vision grew out of one small frustration: nearly everything written about wall-mounting a television is really an advert in disguise. The "advice" steers you toward a particular bracket, a bundle of cables, or a booking form — and the useful facts end up buried beneath things to buy.

So we built the reverse. Nothing here is for sale — no brackets, no cables, no fitting service, no affiliate links dressed up as recommendations. The one and only aim is that you walk away understanding the job better than when you arrived.

We write for two sorts of reader: the careful do-it-yourselfer who wants to get it right, and the person doing their homework before hiring someone, who wants to know what "done well" even looks like.

What we stand for

Three principles behind every page.

Principle 01

Independence

No products, no commissions, no sponsored shout-outs. When we name a kind of tool or bracket, it's because it's relevant to the point — never because someone paid for the mention.

Principle 02

Honesty about risk

We're upfront about where DIY runs out of road. If a task needs a professional for safety or legal reasons, we say so rather than pretending it's all a weekend project.

Principle 03

Plain language

Jargon gets explained the moment it first appears. You shouldn't have to already be a tradesperson to follow a guide written for everyone.

How to use this site

Background knowledge, not instructions for your exact wall.

Everything here is general educational content. We can't see your wall, your television, or the wiring tucked behind your plaster, so nothing on this site should be taken as a professional assessment of your particular situation.

Use our guidance to understand the decisions and ask sharper questions — then follow the specific instructions that came with your TV and bracket, and bring in a qualified professional whenever safety or local rules call for one.

Spotted something out of date or that could be clearer? We genuinely want to hear it. Tell us and we'll take a look. Please also read our disclaimer.
